How Does VIVACE RF Needling Work?

VIVACE is used for acne scarring for its ability to break up and remodel clusters of scar tissue in the face and body, restructuring the form and appearance of scars. As with traditional skin needling, hundreds of tiny perforations are made in the skin, inducing the body’s natural healing cascade to trigger the production of collagen, elastin, and growth factors. Collagen is the protein which provides the skin its firmness, support and structure. Stimulating collagen will help to reintroduce volume to the face, and reduce the dimpled effect of acne scars. These tiny, sterile needles also act as conductors for VIVACE’s radiofrequency energy, which is delivered deep into the dermis at about 3.5mm deep. This dramatically amplifies the skin’s collagen induction, resulting in advanced skin tightening and remodelling of scar tissue.

Is VIVACE Right For Me?

VIVACE is an extremely customisable treatment, making it suitable for a wide variety of patients and skin concerns. We can also customise the strength of RF energy delivered to the skin, as well as the number of passes, ie. whether we go over the treatment area a second time. What Can I Expect During Treatment?

The VIVACE procedure is generally 30-45 minutes. Your face will be cleansed
thoroughly and a topical anaesthetic will be applied to eliminate the pain and ensure your comfort throughout the entire process. RF needling is surprisingly fast, with each needle stamp lasting only a fraction of a second. Up to three passes may be repeated over the treatment areas, depending on your needs. Due to the topical numbing, you should feel minimal discomfort, but your skin may feel hot during and after your session.

What Is The Downtime For VIVACE?

Your skin will experience heat and tenderness for the first day, and mild redness and sensitivity for 1-2 days post-treatment. You may experience some skin shedding or flaking during the first week, depending on the depth and number of passes conducted during your session. It is crucial to apply sun protection, avoid exfoliating agents, and keep skin well hydrated in the 5-7 days following treatment.

How Soon Will I See Results?

An immediate result should not be expected after a VIVACE treatment. Since the outcome is centred around collagen fibre contraction and growth, these effects can take up to three months to occur. Your skin will continue to heal and promote cellular turnover throughout this period, so you should notice an improvement in skin quality after several weeks. Gradually, the skin’s surface will become tighter, brighter, and smoother. As with many cosmetic treatments, several sessions may be required to achieve significant results, and the effects will be cumulative. Scar tissue can also be exceedingly difficult to treat, and more sessions will be required for this need as opposed to generalised skin rejuvenation.
