Sometimes refer to as ‘permanent filler’, this type of injectable is designed at stimulate the formation of collagen in the tissue where the injections are administered, lasting up to 2 years.
How Do Biostimulators Work?
Unlike conventional dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid, biostimulators are made from a biocompatible synthetic substance suspended in a gel solution. When injected into your chosen treatment area, they not only provide volume to the skin, but prompt the tissue to begin creating new collagen. This has a skin tightening effect on the surface.
Which Areas Can Biostimulators
Be Used?
Many areas of the face and neck are popular when it comes to biostimulators. They are often used around the jawline, to sculpt as well as tighten. They are also often used to treat jowls and ‘turkey neck’, as well as the cheeks and midface.

What Are The Risks?
As an injectable service, bruising is common among biostimulator patients. This is normal and should subside within 5-10 days. These can be covered with makeup from 24 hours after treatment. Any type of filler also carries a risk of vascular occlusion. This results from dermal filler being injected into a vein or artery, which causes a blockage and results in a blood clot. Vascular occlusion is a standard risk of dermal filler even for the most skilled cosmetic injector. For this reason it is crucial that you understand and accept this risk prior to dermal filler treatments, and closely follow your post-treatment care instructions. Ensuring that you are aware of the signs of vascular occlusion means that you can report it straight away and that we can work with you promptly to treat it.
