An advanced non-ablative fractional Erbium laser, Icon is a powerful yet low-downtime tool which can dramatically improve the appearance of surgical scarring, as well as lines, wrinkles, skin sagging, and poor texture.

How Does Icon Laser Work?

Icon delivers laser energy into the dermis to stimulate growth factors and collagen and elastin production, plumping the skin and improving smoothness and texture. This remodels the skin from below, allowing acne scars to be broken down and reformed with newer, tighter, better quality skin. Fractional lasers direct energy into the skin in tiny columns, as opposed to large blocks. This is what allows for less downtime than other lasers, as there is less trauma to the dermis, facilitating faster healing.

How Do I Prepare For My
Treatment?

We ask that you avoid sun exposure or fake tan, as well as anti-wrinkle injections, fillers, or other clinical skin treatments for at least 14 days prior to laser treatments. Depending on your skin type, we may ask that you prep your skin using pigment- inhibiting skincare products to reduce your risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Do not wax the area or exfoliate within 48 hours of treatment.

What Is The Downtime After
Icon Laser Treatment?

Compared with some other resurfacing lasers for scarring, fractionated laser is typically less painful and has less associated downtime. After your treatment, your skin may appear red and feel warm to the touch for several hours. This usually fades by the following day, but can depend on your treatment. You may resume your normal activities right away, ensuring gentle skin products and no intensive exercise for the following 24 hours. It is crucial to apply sun protection, avoid exfoliating agents, and keep skin well hydrated in the 5-7 days following treatment.
