Scrotox

In addition to reducing the appearance and severity of wrinkles, botulinum toxin can also be used to alter the appearance of the scrotum (hence the name Scrotox) resulting in smoother, more relaxed testicles which hang lower and therefore appear larger.

How Does Scrotox Work?

When used for anti-wrinkle injections, botulinum toxin is administered to facial nerves which attach to facial muscles, preventing their activation so that those facial muscles are not triggered to contract. This prevents facial wrinkles from forming and/or deepening. Scrotox applies the same principles to the testicle region. Injected into the testicle skin and acting on the dartos muscle, the botulinum toxin will relax the testicles and prevent them from contracting. This leads them to appear larger and the skin to appear smoother as they stretch downwards.

Is Scrotox Painful?

Topical numbing cream will be applied to the skin prior to injections, so that there is minimal to no discomfort. Several tiny injections will then be administered into the skin of the testicles, not into the testicles themselves.

What Are The Benefits?

Most who receive Scrotox treatments do so for cosmetic reasons, enjoying the smoother and larger results. Some patients anecdotally report heightened sensitivity in the area which improves their sexual pleasure. Others also report a reduction in sweating, although this is not listed as a primary outcome and may not occur in all individuals. There is no downtime and patients can resume normal activities immediately, though we do recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and sexual activity for at least 24 hours.

How Long Do Results Last?

Just like most other anti-wrinkle injections, results tend to last 4-6 months, and will vary between individuals.

How Long Do Results Last?

Scrotox is an extremely low-risk treatment. However, it is possible that the procedure can temporarily lower sperm count. Testicles expand and contract as a means of regulating temperature. Since the botulinum toxin reduces the ability for muscles to contract, temperature regulation may be slightly impacted, which can affect sperm count.
