SculpSure by Cynosure is a non-invasive body contouring treatment for lipolysis (fat reduction) on the body. How Does SculpSure Work?

SculpSure is a quick, easy treatment with no special preparation or numbing required. After cleansing the treatment area, SculpSure applicators are applied to the skin, and 1060nm laser energy is delivered over the course of 25 minutes. This laser wavelength has a specific affinity for adipose (fat) cells. The end result is a heating of the fat cells, during which many are damaged. Over time, the body naturally eliminates these disrupted fat cells. Results can be seen from around 6 weeks and optimal results usually seen at around 12 weeks. A single treatment often brings about approximately 24% reduction of fat in the treated area, however, this varies across individuals. The resulting heat from the laser energy bypasses the surface of the skin to reach the fat cells below, with no surface damage occurring. However, there is a secondary benefit of this deep heating effect, which is the stimulation of collagen and elastin, creating a skin tightening effect.

Is SculpSure Painful?

Many individuals experience SculpSure differently depending on their pain thresholds. Some find the warming sensation pleasant, while others may find some discomfort similar to a mild, dull pain in the area. SculpSure utilises Advanced Contact Cooling to improve patient comfort, keeping the surface layers of the skin cold while the lower layers are heated. Immediately after the treatment, you may find some mild tenderness and firmness will be experienced in the treated area and usually resolved within a week.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

Best results usually require 2-3 treatments, depending on the size and location of the treatment area and the desired outcome. SculpSure offers permanent reduction of your chin fat through selective fat cell death. However, excessive weight gain following your treatment may reverse your results by expanding the remaining fat cells in the area. Therefore, we recommend you follow a healthy diet and exercise plan to limit dietary fat and maintain your results.
